Early kick-off for Shoes Düsseldorf in 2025

[ 10/24/2024 ]

Requested date is fulfilled

In future, SHOES DÜSSELDORF will open the order cycle. During the current September edition of SHOES DÜSSELDORF the organisers already announced that the dates will be brought forward to 2 to 4 February 2025.

“With this decision we are following the requests voiced by both retail and industry to position the trade show as a kick-off event for the order cycle thereby enabling an early exchange on trends and directions,” says Ulrike Kähler, Managing Director of Igedo Exhibitions.

The new dates represent a strategic adjustment to the needs of the industry. This is of particular relevance since the styles and collections for Autumn/Winter 2025/26 will now be presented as part of three trade shows: FASHN ROOMS with its Showroom Concept as well as Neonyt Düsseldorf for sustainable fashion & lifestyle, held from 25 to 27 January – to be followed by SHOES DÜSSELDORF only one week later.

This means shoes, accessories and fashion will be moved into focus at an early point in time.

For summer the organisers are also striving to adapt the trade show run-time so that

SHOES DÜSSELDORF can also kick off the season.

SHOES DÜSSELDORF 1 to 3 September 2024 – Review

In bright sunshine the visitors informed themselves about the show, accessory and fashion trends exhibited by the around 500 international brands und ordered their highlights for the next summer season.

Order-Information seminars, Buyers Briefings, keynote lectures, trend forecasts and talks on the themes of retail concepts, innovative products, sustainable concepts and digital tools – all of this was offered on the STAGE and in the EVENT AREA with a view to giving buyers valuable and helpful tips for the future of their retail business.

In the “Rising Retail & Event Concepts Area” innovative retail concepts were centre stage. Specialist retailers had the opportunity to attend various Buyers Briefings where they received informative and inspiring retail impulses. “In this Area we did deep dives in coaching sales assistants, this is currently important to bring the fashion in the stores closer to the shoppers!” explains Ulrike Kähler. On top, visitors had the chance of creating their own shopping experience, treating themselves to a short break for a hair and make-up touch up.

The highlight on Monday was the Ladies Talk ‘Ulrike meets Frauke’ – Passion for People & Fashion featuring the trade show boss Ulrike Kähler with Frauke Ludowig, Creative Director VIP at RTL and brand ambassador for ara SHOES GmbH, followed by a joint tour of the trade show.

“We think it’s really good that the trade fair is moving forward. After all, we are currently in the middle of the order round at SHOES DÜSSELDORF. We would like to be part of an information fair at the start!”

Walter Breuer, Gobal Sales Director by HÖGL shoe fashion GmbH

“From 1 to 3 September, we were represented at SHOES DÜSSELDORF as exhibitors with Marc O’Polo Shoes. Of course, we would like to see more retail presence, but the very well organised trade fair in the beautiful Areal Böhler was a complete success for us. We were able to make valuable contacts, present our collections to an interested trade audience and successfully finalise our S/S 2025 1 order. Hopefully, the decision to have an earlier date will bring everyone on board!”

Jan Brinkmann, Director Shoes Marc O’Polo International GmbH

“I welcome the decision to move the date of SHOES DÜSSELDORF forward to the beginning of February. The new date allows us to exchange information with our suppliers at an early stage and gives us a valuable opportunity to find out about the latest collection orientations and trends at the beginning of the order phase.”

Marc Neugebauer, Managing Director Schuh-Heinrich GmbH & Co.KG

“We are looking for unusual shoes, curiosity brings us here to the trade fair. I think it’s good that the trade fair is bringing forward its date. You have to try things out to see how the trade fair can be strengthened. After all, trade fairs are important for inspiration and dialogue.”
